Defunct Car Manufacturers and Their Cool Models (A)

Sunday, April 20, 2008 9:33

There are quite a few dead car manufacturers in the world so the list is huge. Therefore we've chosen from this vast list only a few companies and names an only from United States. Enjoy! 01.Abbott-Detroit The Abbott-Detroit was an American luxury automobile manufactured between 1909 and 1919. Well designed, the cars released by Abbott were also powerful with their Continental engines. By 1913 these cars were guaranteed for life, when electric lighting and starting had been standardized. Abbott produced about 15-20 units per day in 1916 so they moved to a larger facility in Cleveland. This will prove to be too stressful for the company's finances and the bankruptcy was declared two years later, in 1918.

Cultural Revolution Campaign Posters

Monday, April 14, 2008 1:07

The Cultural Revolution in CHINA  (1966-1976) The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution in the People's Republic of China was a struggle for power within the Communist Party of China that manifested into wide-scale social, political, and economic chaos, which grew to include large sections of Chinese society and eventually brought the entire country to the brink of civil war. It was launched by Mao Zedong, the Chairman of the Communist Party of China, on May 16, 1966, officially as a campaign to rid China of its "liberal bourgeoisie" elements and to continue revolutionary class struggle. It is widely recognized, however, as a method to regain control of the party after the disastrous Great Leap Forward led to a significant loss of Mao's power to rivals Liu Shaoqi and Deng Xiaoping, and would eventually manifest into waves of power struggles between rival factions both nationally and locally. Although Mao himself officially declared the Cultural Revolution to have ended in 1969, the term is today widely used to also include the period between 1969 and the arrest of the Gang of Four in 1976.

Battlestar Galactica season 4 premiere

Battlestar Galactica season 4 premiere

Friday, April 4, 2008 3:19

Today the 4th and the last season of Battlestar Galactica will begin with the first episode, HE THAT BELIEVETH IN ME in which the thin line that separates cylons from humans fades as Starbuck returns from the dead claiming that she has found Earth. I'm sure the fans can't wait to see their favourite show in the air. Till then I recomend Ron Moore's blog, where they can update their knowledgebase about the show and also, read an interestin interview with Ron which (in case you didn't know) is the executive producer.

Battlestar Galactica Razor

Battlestar Galactica Razor

Friday, April 4, 2008 3:09

Few months ago (11.24.07), USA Cable Entertainment released their new film based on Battlestar Galactica series. I must say that before seeing this movie i was a little bit skeptical about this brand new effort to bring the fans back. It's not surprising, especially now, when the writers are in bypass and the perspective of a new complete season is as far as it can be. I don't know why the fans disliked the last episodes nor why they abandoned the series. But i do know that me and my friends abandoned BSG because of Starbuck. The sick blond pilot that made us all scream and kick in front of the TV's trying not to throw the remotes on the screen. We reached new levels of hate, contemption, despise and god knows what else. For others to understand, recently we spotted a new series, Bionic Woman. But we managed to see about 5 minutes from the first episode. Why? The same actress that plays Starbuck in BSG.

There are many options for a Windows user when it comes to free software that can be run from a portable drive such as an usb stick. Two of the best choices are already explained in the previous post. But, what are the options for a Mac user? Are there any portable applications he may use on his flash drive?
